First and foremost, let me say this:
Happy Friday one and all!
And just let me add a WHOOP! WHOOP!
for good measure.
Anyway, bein' the social dawg that I am, not only do I meander around the streets talkin' to the residents of DogBlogville, I also enjoy spendin' time in FaceBurg. I've met quite a few friends and enjoyed many a good laugh in both locations.
As I opened my FaceBurg mailbox the other day - I got quite a surprise as I saw a note from my furiends, Samantha and Avalon Evans. This is the highly edited version of what it said:
Dearest Chester - We really don't wanna meet your PUs would love to meet you and your PUs but we are really dyin' to meet up and partay with YOU at one of the local hot spots in Gettysburg. Ya see - we've been holed up in this RV travelin' with our PUs for what seems to be forever for a few months now as we've meandered thru all the National Parks and we have ended up in Gettysburg which we know is very close to you. We sincerely hope that you will consider clearin' your schedule so that we can get down - and get - funky visit.
Sammie & Ava
They included their cell number but I will not share that with you - for if'n I did, their phone would not stop ringin'. If'n I know you dawgs like I think I know you dawgs - oncet you see these two beauties you'd be clearnin' your schedule too and tryin' to win their Golden attentions.
All that to say, my appointment book flew outta the window and I told Mom to pack my gear and drive me to Gettysburg. She quickly touched up my 'do with the Furminator and off we went.
A lot of these pics aren't real great, but in defense of the photographer,
it was hard to catch our flurry of furs because we did not stand still for long.
We got to know one better another over drinks. Apparently I had stepped aside
to take a pee when this shot was snapped.
Bein's how Ava is still in her "terrible twos", and I am a Labradork,
we found that we had a lot in common.
I was also very interested in the girlz' Mom as she served nomalicious
appetizers from the treat bag attached to her hip, but when she announced
that she had a special meal planned for Sammie's birthday - she had my FULL
attention. As she sat down a full course meal of hot dogz swimmin' in bowls of cold water, I forgot everythin' else and dived right in. There was not much
dinner conversation because as you can see, the girlz dived right in beside me.

We also went dancin' for a bit after we ate. Click HERE to see us tearin' up the dance floor.
Bein' quite the showgirl, Ava entertained us
by performin' her froggeh routine.
I think Ava might just have a crush on me. Several times she simply threw
herself at my feet. She's not the first girl to do that, nor will she be the last.
One might think it's easy - but it's actually quite tough - bein' this good lookin'.
*SIGH*
Older sister Sammie looks a bit embarrassed by Ava's
flirtatious behavior - or is she afraid that, bein' the older sister, she will always
hafta catch Ava's crumbs, so to speak?
Speakin' of crumbs, I found out that Sammie has a taste for horse crumbs
and found a couple to nibble on while we visited the horses at the corral.
I did not like the stink-eye that horse was givin' Sammie, so I passed
on the snacks.
Ava watched excitedly as I stick my head into the HUMONGOUS bag of prezzies
that the girlz and their PUs had brought for me. It was filled with: several
nomalicious kinds of treats, a red bouncy animal that resembled a piggeh and
a stuffie that sounded like it had a water bottle stuffed inside. It was great
for crunchin' on. And here I thought it was Sammie's birthday - but I'm the one
that made out like a fat rat!!!
But I did not show up empty-pawed, thank goodness! I brought the girlz a bag
to open too with a few goodies inside.
Here Ava sits beside her new Lobstah water toy and somewhere there was
also a Stingray water toy. He musta been a little camera shy 'cuz I can't find any pics of him.
The afternoon passed quickly and I feel I only scratched the surface
of gettin' to know the California Golden Girlz and their PUs better. It was definitely an afternoon of fun and I will remember our Golden Brown afternoon forever. It was very, very hard to say good-bye. I must admit that I did
consider hi-jackin' Sammie and Ava and their big Dodge Diesel and just drivin' off into the sunset.
Thanks so much again for a beautiful afternoon.
We hope to meet up with you again someday.

You met two golden girls at once? I think Kuster is jealous! He said to let him know next time and he'd let you borrow his harness. ;) Those hot dogs looked FANTASTIC! I know Sammie and Avalon are on one big adventure and I bet they had a blast at your place. It's probably the highlight of their trip!
