What's that spell? FRIDAY! Goooooooooooo Friday!!!

Can you tell I'm just a little bit excited to see this work week end? I am but not for any particular reason other than a change of pace does a body good. Time for me to decide what's on my agenda for two days in a row. Time to relax and unwind. I know Mom needs a break too 'cuz she seemed a little more tired than usual, and she mentioned "my grain" a couple times. I am so glad my 2 leggers don't make me eat kibble that has a bunch of grain in it if that's the way it makes you act. They're particular about what I eat and check to make sure there is meat in it and not a bunch of grain. We just stocked up so here is a picture of what my food bags look like:

If you read the ingredients there's a lot of meat and protein along with blueberries, sweet potatoes, carrots etc. All good stuff that keeps me in tip-top shape and gives my coat a nice healthy glow. Mom recently got a good tip from Mrs. Author about puttin' Activa vanilla yogurt on my kibble, so now at my evening meal I get 3 teaspoons of yogurt on top of my food. Not only is it good for me but it also tastes yummy and creamy good. What's not to love about that? Thanks Mrs. A for the great recipe!!!

Now I'm not complainin', but day in, day out this can get old. So when the weekend comes, it's good to take a break from the norm and get out and try something a little different. You may remember me mentionin' Madam Shoesies several weeks ago. Well, while I was waitin' for Truffles to get down here so I could take her out for a nice date, the board of health came along and shut them down. I do remember thinkin' that the buffet did seem a little on the sloppy side, but attributed it to being busy and not being able to keep up with the high volume crowd.

Madam Shoesies

I was highly disappointed that Truffles and I never made it there but maybe it's for the best. The cool thing about it is that within a few short weeks, new management has stepped in, cleaned the place up and opened under a new name.

The Hard Sole Cafe

Ya gotta admit,  it's much cleaner than Madam Shoesie's and the Hard Sole Cafe is much more skilled in their presentation. The menu looks delicious - born bites, merrell medallions, hot hikers, 2 kinds of cowboy kickers, blackened sole,  and tied ox fords are just a few of their specialties. The biggest surprise of all was that they added what Madame Shoesie's never got a chance to before they were shut down. Yep, Truffles-they have your fav and mine, hard shelled clogs, and they look fresh!

The menu also says it is BYOB-bring your own badonkadonk. I hope Truffles gets hers here soon because I don't know how long I can wait to try it out. I'm pretty sure too that if Godiva sees this she might tell "Granny Pants"to take a hike through the Ben & Jerry factory while she takes me out for an evening at the Hard Sole Cafe. A dawg can only be tempted for so long before he breaks. One thing I did do was get some for take-out which will help me make sure it is a worthy place to take my fiance plus help me to resist Godiva's charming offer for a night out with her at the Hard Sole. I can hardly wait to dig in! I'll let you know what I think later after I've sampled all the delicious delights inside my doggy bag.

Happy Friday!
I hope your weekend gives you a change of pace, makes you feel fresh and helps you to forget this week's ishoes too!

Chester,

Those hard shelled clogs do look fresh. My mom has a few of those Dansko's but they um, well, um, they're not so fresh... Activia Yogurt? My mom was wondering if that might help Ziggy with his odorous problems... Have a great weekend! Mom will be chasing after me all weekend with that new camera of hers!

Ringo's mom is extremely thankful that neither the girls nor Ringo enjoy the taste of the offerings at the Hard Sole Cafe.

We have to work on the horse's pens and fencing this weekend - getting things ready for winter! And Stormy is leaving us on Sunday for a month of intensive training to be an accomplished team roping (header) horse. I'm sure our paint horse is going to miss her when we load her up in the trailer - they'll be a lot of whinnying going on!!

I DO love yogurt too! Just that lately my diet has been real bland, some kind of canned food stuff....I ate it, but it was not as tasty as my usual. Now I am back to my usual food + starting to eat cookies too.

Gratitude. That's what mom is chanting at this moment. I think she's flip flopping about cause she's so happy about the fact the just about the one thing I don't seem to indulge in is shoes. But I may have to give 'em a try some day.

Have a good weekend Chester

Chester,

If your mom is anything like mine, you better not choose the Dansko's. She will get quite cranky. My mom has them in several colors and wears them "all" the time. She says they are a bit pricey, but they last forever. I suppose forever depends on whether they become a snack for us four leggers.

Yes, I am so happy it is Friday. Mom and Dad are still recovering from my human sisters wedding. We all need a break. We are all itching for a mountain retreat. Maybe, mom and dad will plan one, soon.

Truffles just punched through the living room wall and left what looks like a cartoon cutout. She uttered something about boiling a bunny before she disappeared....

Best dog food menu ever.

Happy Friday Chester! I love the new place you found! No wonder all the ladies are fighting over you. I sure wish I could fine a nice place to take a girl out to around here. I am going to have to scout things out and see what I can come up with.

Hi Chocolate Pal...
I like your thinking.. frog tents. Stumpy told me in AZ the govt imported frogs for hunting. No one hunted them and now huge over population.. Sounds like a mission for us. I hope you had a great weekend! Still swimming? Mom hasn't come up missing again.
