New Beginnings

On Saturday we ushered in the first official day of a much welcomed Spring. The winter has been a long, snowy one and I think I speak for many when I say that we are ready for some warm sunshine to thaw out our bones. A short walk around the yard breathes new life into our stale airways, and we see the promise of good things to come.

What looks like this now...

...will soon look like this photo taken last year.

And it's hard to believe that this little lonely bud...

...will soon have loads of new friends he will be hangin' out with.

Maybe it's this overload of fresh air but it got me comparin' it to what it was like when I first started bloggin'. Lookin' back I never saw the seeds of friendship startin' to bloom. I thought maybe a little sprout or two would surface but I had no idea that my blog plantin' would produce such a rich harvest of friends. As you can see on the right, the list has grown and I often find it hard to keep up with the daily events of all my friends.

And then, as if I needed more to do, I plowed up a whole new place to plant by joinin' Facebook. The seeds of friendship grew quickly and I've met more cool dawgs than you can shake a chewed up stick at. That brings me to my point: I'd like to formally introduce you to one of my Facebook pals, George Crow and his new blog called "A Dog's Life". Georgie Boy is a yellow Lab and lives in London. I'm still new enough to this bloggin' to remember those first posts and anxiously waitin' to see if anybody would show up, or better yet, let pee mail a comment. He has just published his first introductory post and I thought that maybe some of you would like to run over, check him and his profile out and make him feel welcome. I'm sure he would gladly accept any biscuits of advice you experts have to offer also. I just thought by mentionin' him, it would be like addin' a little fertilizer to help his blog grow faster. Ok, let's move on to the next tiny but important matter of business.

Coco, who is one of my many female admirers tagged me in her post over a week ago and I'm just now getting back to her. The tag is that I am supposed to go to the first folder on my computer and post the tenth picture in that folder. I will show you the picture she posted first, but I need to mention that it is for mature audiences only.

Does she know how to show off a pear of pink jeans, or WHAT? It's a good thing she lives in Malaysia, 'cuz I'm not so sure I could contain myself if she lived any closer!

Ok, goin' to my folder now and countin' to ten. Oh, no! It couldn't be a poorer quality photo to share! I think it was taken through the window so as not to wake me up. Just in case you can't make out what that brown blob is, let me explain. That was the second night I lived here and I didn't have a crate yet. The PUs cut up a computer box, covered a pillow with a towel and told me that was my bed. Pretty sad lookin' bed but it was still better than the straw lined stable I had been sleepin' in. As you can see, I am dead to the world and not concerned in the least with being taken away from my 4 legger Mom. The plastic tire on a rope was all mine and I didn't have to share toys with my brothers and sisters anymore.

So there you have it, my sweet Coco. Now part of the tag is choosin' other friends to do the same. Never bein' one to follow the rules, I'm just tellin' you all that if you wanna do this, have at it! Just be sure and let me know when you post yours so I'm sure not to miss it.

I must go now and prepare for surgery. Seems that my stuffie friend, Grunt, has mysteriously sprouted a growth of his own. Mom's next thing to allergic to needles that have thread attached and she's gonna need all the help she can get.

Here we go again, it's Monday.
Five full days before we can say we have the work week all sewed up.
I just hope your sewin' goes well and doesn't leave a nasty scar.
Chester ;0=)

Thanks for the intro - George is a fun boy, we'll have to see what he has up his blogging sleeve.
Oh, and I for one am a big fan of your first bed - it had edible sides. I hope you discovered that before it was replaced! :)

PeeS. How do you get your momma to have surgery on your stuffies. Our momma just chucks them. The horror. She is so not humane. Have your momma call our momma and talk some sense into her.

Poor stuffie, hope the Mom can fix him. The Momster here has difficulty seeing well enough to thread the needle - something about them making the holes smaller than they used to:)

Hi Chester! I am happy that spring is coming too, the long cold winter gets a paws down for sure.

Chester, I am the editor and co-writer of the Responsible Pet Ownership blog, sponsored by CANIDAE All Natural Pet Foods. The blog’s purpose is to educate pet owners on all aspects of pet care, with new articles posted daily. I think we provide a nice service to pet owners with informative articles, along with some human interest stories. I was wondering if you might check us out, and if you like what you see, include us in your blogroll? If so, we’d greatly appreciate it.
