Head for the Hills

If you stopped by this past Friday, you may remember the torment my PUs were tossin' my direction. As if that wasn't enough, Mom decided to make homemade peanut butter cookies that night and smeared All Natural Jif halfway up my nostril. She claims it was accidental that she missed my mouth, but come on! Look at this pie-hole that adorns my face! It's not the proverbial needle in the haystack and I don't believe it can be missed easily, even with her old 2 legger eyesight. I'm just surprised she didn't whip out that blasted camera to document her poor aim and publish my disgrace. After a moistened paper towel addressed the carnage, I indignantly stormed out of the room and declared that I needed a day out with the boys.

I also knew Nerd Bob was in dire need of a stress relieving day after spending Friday pacing the hospital while his fiance, Sasha, was gettin' her Pop-o-Matic leg fixed. They had to break her lovely leg and put it all back together again. We are all relieved to know she is home, doing well and resting comfortably in her nest.

Bob was stoked to hear that I had already called Adonis Greyhound and Buddy Spain and we were plannin' to do some extreme four wheelin' in the snow covered hills. We hadn't gotten together for some boy fun in a coon's age. These two dawgs are just the dawgs to call if you want to throw down a good time. Within the hour we had the jeeps rented and were on our merry way.

I've always been warned not to pick up strangers but when we came upon Mr. Coyote, we knew he was almost like family so we offered him a ride.
But, when he saw Buddy do a 180 spin before comin' to a complete stop,
he told us he'd wait until the next ride came along.
"OK-but you're missin' out on a good time", we told him.

This horse seemed unimpressed with
our maneuvers...

...as did this donkey.

Or maybe they were just too cold to care.

Anyway, we drove on and on and I can't even begin to tell you how many times we had to stop because Adonis and Buddy had to let pee mails. You see, they are VIPs,
Very Important Pooches
and have a lot of business to take care of.

This herd of cattle at the Hay Buffet made us realize we had been havin' so much fun that we had forgotten to eat.

*Yeah, I know what you're thinkin'...dogs never forget to eat. But come on, dogs normally don't drive Jeeps either. Since it's my blog and I can say almost anything I want, let's all pretend that we had forgotten to eat. Now that we have that matter settled, let's move on:

When we came across this polar bear momma and her baby, we suddenly realized that we had strayed farther north than we had planned and we were a long, long way from home.

All of a sudden, peanut butter halfway up my nostril wasn't soundin' so horrible. We were broke since spendin' all our dough on these Jeeps so even eatin' fast food was not gonna happen. All we could manage to come up with was one buck.

To make a long story short, with stomachs growlin', we raced home as fast as we could and made it there just as the kibble bowls were bein' filled. A day out in the fresh mountain air had us all tired and we called it a day. I don't know about the rest of the dawgs, but I know I was out the minute my head hit the pillow. The day out with the boys had been money well spent.

It might be a long shot, but I hope your week is so much fun
that you almost forget to eat too!
Chester ;0=)

Forgetting to eat would require a lot of fun for sure. You guys travel in style. Looks like some of those furries could use a hot tub.

OMG, the Jeep pic!! Something tells me there was more trouble going on if I know this crowd.

BTW, we humans always claim to smear peanut butter on your noses by mistake. ;)

Chester,

My mom says your friend Sasha looks like a gigantic Pedro (except in girl form with lay-down ears)! Hope her pop-o-matic leg stops a poppin!

LOL, great post Michelle! You're so good at these stories. :) I wish I could forget to eat... maybe for at least a week??! Or two. LOL

Ringo has turned into one house-lovin', indoor schnoozin' dawg this winter. That boy's going to need some exercise himself once this weather warms up. :-)
