Year End Report

Anybody who has been here before is gonna notice right at the get-go that things look a little different 'round here. Ya see, yesterday was my First Year Blogaversary and I thought it was time to remodel. Bear with me, there are still some finishin' touches to be made, but for the most part I think I like the updated look.

That bein' said, here we are, almost at the end of another calendar year. Soon we will be closin' out the books and seein' if we came anywhere close to gettin' ahead and figgerin' if it was worth the effort we expelled durin' in the previous months. Just because I'm a dawg does not make me exempt from this process.

As hard as it is to believe, I've been poundin' away at this keyboard for a year now and it's time to tally up the profit/loss statement. The summation of my findings is not a total surprise to me, for I felt the tide movin' in a positive direction not long after I started. Without any further ado, I present the:

2009
For the Love of Chester
Annual Report

My office is simple which makes for low overhead. Many hours are spent here hunched over my desk. The only breaks I take are to walk over to the water cooler and to go to the snack machine once a day to get a Zukes Power Bone for an afternoon pick-me-up.

I don't drive which is a huge cost savings. I prefer to walk home after a long, hard day. This allows me to clear my head and bein' the multi-tasker that I am, I can take care of pee mails along the way.

After a quick meal, I'm ready to unwind in front of the TV for just a little while before bedtime.

That's pretty much it for me, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Bein' not fully vested, I have not earned much vacation time. It's a dawg meet dawg blogworld out there and I take my job seriously. I cannot afford to leave my post for vacations. You never know when some dawg fresh off the streets will move in on your blog territory when you're not there. Of course you are all familiar with my moonlightin' job of Groundhog Patrol which leaves me little to none personal time.

So here's the bottom line:
Has it been worth the long hours spent with my paw to the keyboard?

How about the many mornin's not being able to get out of bed because
I had been up into the wee hours wrappin' up a blog story?

Judgin' by my pie bone chart
I can say a resoundin' YES!!!

I just hope the IRS does not decide to audit me.
It would look highly suspicious how little I did to
deserve all of you. If you don't tell, I won't tell.

Seriously folks, I don't have the right words
to express how much your visits, your comments
and your friendships mean to me. I have been blown away
at how tight-knit this pack of dog bloggers are
and the friendships that bloggin' has led me to.
I am humbled to be included in such a fine group
and the best I can do is simply say THANK-YOU!

Lord willin' and the internet doesn't crash,
I'm goin' to cause as much trouble work just as hard in the comin' year
to keep my newfound friends comin' back for more.

What a super rich, Chester-colored gorgeous new look! Such a nice round finish to your thoughtful analysis, Chester. For us as well, this blogging community has seemed tight as a drum to us after meeting so many this past year. There is tremendous joy in trading stories with new friends (some of whom we've met and had great times with!) We wish we could actually meet all blog pals!!! Thanks
for this great post Chester - love your charts and thoughts, but paticularly your conclusion - and mostly YOU, of course!
Hugs and Love xo

Hey you sweet boy! What a terrific end of the year wrap up!

If we put a dollar value on all the great friendships we have, we would all be multi-multi-millionaires!

Happy New Year, Chester!

I'm sort of visual and have a killer sweet tooth. Any chance you can work in a pie chart? :)

I love the new blog look - it really stands out. Good way to transition in to another year of entertaining us, and impressing Truffles with your exploits. Congrats on the first of many anniversaries to come Chester, you rock!

Dear Big Brownie:
Rory & Fiona, but most especially Rory want you to know how much getting to know you and be friends with you this past year has meant.

And, as a person who writes a blog, I KNOW how much work and energy is invested in it. So, to say thanks seems such a small word for such a huge effort.

I guess the only other two words that might make that a bigger word is if we attach, ARRRROOOO and much LOVE for you and your mom and dad.

Your new bloggie theme is delicious. I feel like I'm dipped in chocolate.. if you could only add a scent. hmm.

Well...I am glad I found my brother from another mother. We too are amazed at our blog friends. Sometimes we like them more than our other friends... you're just more fun-balls.
