Last week old man winter re-introduced himself in the form of fallin' snow. While it was not enough to keep the PUs home, it made for a nice new white blanket coverin' the surroundin' brown turf. Weather like this gets me excited as you saw if you were here to watch my Snow Commotion dance last week. The world takes on a whole new look and feel to it and I can't get enough. Hopin' to lure 2 leggers away from their Christmas shoppin', the local ski resort went full tilt into announcin' their openin' day. The cost of a day of skiing is really more than what my budget allows but for once I thought it was time to do a little sumpthin' for me. I called up my friend Nerd Bobby who also likes to shred some powder.
I've mentioned my friend Bob a time or two but I've been remiss in never formally introducing him to my friends in DogBlogville. We met via Facebook and it didn't take us long to realize that we had many things in common. Before we knew what happened, we were tighter than Kirstie Alley's girdle. He's a greyhound from Illinois who lives with 5 other dogs along with his PUs and a 2 legger brother. Nerd Bob might sound like a geek, but he is considered by many to be a very cool hound, especially his girlfriend Sasha from Ohio. Bob is so cool he even drives a bright yellow Corvette.
Bob was so excited when I asked him if he wanted to hit the slopes. Of course he did! The only problem was that he and Sasha already had made plans. We talked a little while and then decided what a better way for us to introduce our girlfriends to one another than to go on a double date. It's sumpthin' we had been wantin' to do for a long time but it just never worked out. As serious as Bob and Sasha are gettin' we need to be sure the females get along so that this doesn't cause a serious rift between me and Bob.
To make a long story short, we talked the girls into it. The 'Vette was loaded up and we took off for the resort. Truffles and Sasha headed to the bathroom together to let one more pee mail before suiting up. In the meantime, Bob and I posed for a picture.
We waited and we waited some more. Sumpthin' told me and Bob that these girls were hittin' it off real well. We figgered they'd catch up to us sometime, and not wantin' to waste valuable slope time, we headed on over to the ski jump.
Nerd Bob shows off his daring dog freestyle.
Not to be outdone, I caught some crazy air also.
By the time we were done, Truffles and Sasha were walkin' across the snow gigglin' and laughin' for all they were worth. Much to our delight, Bob and I realized that the girls were gonna be fine together. We also noticed how good they looked in their winter attire, noting that the time in the bathroom had been well spent. We then decided that it would be fun to do some dog sleddin'. For our last run down the trail we asked that another dawg take our picture so we would have always have a keepsake of our first greyt day together.
Didn't I tell you these girls were lookin' fine? Nerd Bob and I were stoked that this double date had gone so extremely well. We agreed we would plan more dates in the future. As it was, we left the trails happy, but tired. Bob and I had planned on takin' the girls into the Lodge for a nice dinner, but after lookin' at Bob's hat all day, we decided we were hungry for a Whopper and just decided to stop at the Burger King on the way home.
It's Monday and I guess that means
we're on the bottom lookin' up.
Let's hope it doesn't take too long
for the lift to come around and take
us back up to the wonderful
crest of the weekend again.

Excellent skiing weekend.
Hell at this rate I'll never get Truffles back! Great to see Bobby and Sasha out for some fun - I thought they would never leave the dog house, if you know what I mean. ;)
Chester,
You certainly had an adventurous weekend. Please send some snow my way.

i would love to go skiing one day and who knows, i may run into you on the slopes...

Whoa - like your friend's ride, Chester, but like your idea of skiing mostly!!! You and Bob are definitely the daring duo, but I love the sledding! I do think Bob's hat is conducive to a desire for cheeseburgers. Hope they were deelish and mostly, that we get to catch you on the slopes again!
xo Hugs,
Sammie
Most excellent adventure. Who knew nerd Bob could be so much fun? Odd, though, that is not the image of dog sledding that came to mind. I always thought it involved looking at fluffy butts. Who knew?

That looks like a great trip and Nerd Bob must be a cool hound if he's a greyhound and from Illinois!

What a great adventure you and Bob had with the girls!!! We would love to ski but we would also be just as happy if we could get a decent snowfall around here. It is freezing cold here today and no snow - not fair!!!
Woos, Phantom and Thunder
Hey man..
Nice double whopper I mean date. You got some serious air. But I was completely distracted by nerd bob's hat. Yummy. He can be my friend anytime.
Good luck with the ladies... just hold the pickles

Chester, what an immensely entertaining post! Ringo and the girls were glued to the computer to see the outcome of your adventures. They were quite jealous, but happy to see y'all ended up Burger King. The perfect burger to end a perfect day on the slopes. :)
